Cleanup efforts continue after Siskiyou County rock slide

Oct 24, 2014 1:51 PM by News Staff

Highway 96 cleanup efforts have continued into Friday after a rock slide shut down the roadway about four miles west of Happy Camp Thursday morning.

Caltrans officials are on the scene and have conducted an inspection. The roadway has reopened, but one-way traffic control remains in place.

A contractor is completing the cleanup and Caltrans officials expect the road to be fully re-opened when that effort is completed.

Anyone traveling through the area is urged to use caution.
