Circle K Robbery Suspect Turns Himself In

The Redding Police Department has stated 41-year-old Christopher Anderson, the suspect in a Robbery at the Circle K in Redding yesterday, turned himself in early last night.

Yesterday at 4:35 a.m., Redding Police Department officers were dispatched to the Circle K gas station on at 2220 Westside Road in Redding. The reporting employee, 43-year-old Hiede Carmichael, told the officers she had been the victim of a robbery and give officers a description of the suspect.

Heide also relayed to officers what happened in the store prior to her 911 call. According to the department’s press release, Anderson entered the store and according to Carmichael began acting suspiciously. Carmichael told police Anderson waited for all the other customers to leave the store before approaching the cash register. Anderson then reportedly demanded money from the register. While Carmichael was retrieving the money, she told police Anderson then reached into his waistband simulating he had a weapon and stated he would hurt her if we wasn’t given the money. Carmichael gave Anderson an undisclosed amount of cash and left the scene on foot.

Investigating officers eventually determined the suspect was an acquaintance of an employee who positively identified Anderson.

Around 6:30 p.m. last night Anderson turned himself in to the department. He was subsequently interviewed and booked into the Shasta County Jail for robbery and violation of his parole.
