Christmas Eve Storm Coming

Monday started foggy in many areas of the North State, but that burned off fairly quick for most of us and left us with a nice day. With high pressure in control of our weather for one more day, we'll enjoy another beautiful one tomorrow, with even warmer weather... Redding, Red Bluff and Corning could all hit 70 tomorrow! A light north breeze will help warm those afternoon highs up, and keep the fog from being widespread like this morning.

A quick moving but potent storm will arrive Wednesday. Look for a short burst of rain Wednesday afternoon (with the snow levels dropping to near 3500') that should clear out by Wednesday night... meaning smooth sailing still for Santa. During the day, we could see 1/4" to 1/3" of rain.

The storm will be gone by Christmas, but the cooler weather will stay behind. Look for plenty of sun on Christmas day, but cool and breezy as a north wind will gust 25 to 30 mph. Those winds will diminish Wednesday night, but the cool weather will stick around into next week. It looks like we're transitioning from a warm and wet pattern to a dry and cool one this week that could last into early January... at least.
