A sleepy driver crashed his big rig in Tehama County today, that's according to the CHP. The accident happened just before 11am on Highway 99W and Mareck in Los Molinos.
Officers say the driver was just getting into Los Molinos when he drifted off the road and slammed into a power pole, coming to stop in the front yard of a home.
The southbound lane of Highway 99W was closed for about an hour. PG&E was on scene to replace the pole. Initially 1,000 customers were without power, but just a few remain with out electricity now. Power should be restored to everyone by 8pm.
The semi-truck remained on scene for hours because of power lines down near the truck. No injuries were reported.
