A truck driver walked away unharmed after his big rig overturned on the side of southbound Interstate 5 near Orland Thursday morning.
The crash was reported at 9:24 a.m., near County Road 27, about five miles south of Orland.
California Highway Patrol officers say because the truck crashed into an orchard and off the road, I-5 traffic hasn't been impacted.
The truck driver told officers that he lost control of the truck when he choked on a drink. The rig ran off the side of highway, into an orchard, and took out about 10 almond trees. The driver was able to able to climb out of the cab on his own.
