Skies have cleared, but temperatures were cool today... and cold tonight! Look for a slow warm up through the week.
Our weekend storm has moved east, and high pressure is slowly returning. With clear skies tonight, it will get cold overnight! Some Valley locations will be near freezing. With high pressure gaining strength this week, afternoon highs will slowly begin to warm, and Valley highs will be near 70 by Friday. It's looking like a quiet week, as the storm track will stay north of us for a while.
The ridge of high pressure will begin to break down Sunday, and stormy weather could return next week... although I don't see anything especially big coming our way. But perhaps a cool storm next Tuesday. We'll see how the models handle it in the next few days before we try to get into the specifics.
Latest update on El Nino is in: It's reached record strength for a one-week period! +3.0 degrees above average in the equatorial Pacific, and seems to be peaking now... but will still be strong through this winter.
