Chilly temperatures, and strong North winds are ahead for your Thanksgiving forecast. Temperatures have dipped into the low 30's to low 40's in the valley overnight, and into the teens to mid 20's in the mountains. Areas like Redding and Red Bluff have had strong winds keeping temperatures a little warmer than the rest of the region this morning. Gusts have already topped 35mph out of the North in Shasta County, and those gusts are expected to continue throughout the day. Sustained winds will be anywhere between 10 to 25mph out of the North, and the entire region could have gusts to 35mph. high temperatures will only climb into the mid to high 50's in the valley this afternoon, and into the high 20's to mid 40's in the mountains.
There will not be much change ahead for temperatures through the weekend. Valley areas will continue to dip into the high 20's to low 30's, and afternoon highs will stay in the mid to high 50's. Dry weather will also persist through the start of next week. Winds will continue to be strong and out of the North, but not quite as strong as today. The next potential for wet weather will arrive in the region on Monday night, but models are currently split on whether or not showers will return to the region through the middle of next week. I hope everyone stays safe with the cold and windy conditions ahead for today, and has a Happy Thanksgiving!
