Chico State's School of the Arts Productions (SOTA) is hosting the 4th annual "Chico Unplugged" singer/songwriter showcase.

It's a 3 week series of showcases, held on the second floor of Madison Bear Garden. The first one took place last week, another is scheduled for Thursday February 19th and the final one for the semester is Thursday February 25th.

Each week up to 10 artists will perform original songs "unplugged" (without acoustic instrumentation).

Each set is two songs, and performers must show up at 6 p.m. to sign-up. They're encouraged to stay for the whole show, and anyone is welcome to listen in. The show starts at 7 p.m.

The top six performers from the series will be selected by a panel of judges. They will have the chance to record up to two songs with the Chico State Mobile Recording Unit. And when it's all done, SOTA will produce a record release party featuring the winners.

It's free to participants and audience members.
