The California State University, Chico’s School of the Arts (SOTA), campus radio KCSC, and Woodstock’s Pizza will present “Chico Unplugged”, a three-week long series of singer/songwriter showcases. The showcases will run Thursday nights from February 6 through February 20 at Woodstock’s Pizza in downtown Chico.

Those interested in playing are required to show up at Woodstock’s at 6 p.m. each Thursday for sign ups. Performers are required to perform strictly acoustic sets and each set will consist two songs not exceeding 10 minutes in length.

The top performers will have the opportunity to record up to two songs with the Chico State Mobile Recording Unit. The top performers will be selected by a panel of judges composed of community member, students, and faculty.

Event Coordinator Nate Ward described the series as “a fun community event, in an intimate setting, for sharing your own music and an awesome opportunity to have a chance to record your music.”

The event is free for participants and audience members. For more information about the event, how to be a sponsor, or how to get involved, please contact SOTA Productions on Facebook at www.facebook.com/ChicoSOTAP.
