Chico Transient Hits Man in Head with Guitar

A Chico transient is behind bars after assaulting another man. Chico police responded to reports of a fight outside the University Bar around 2:30 Thursday morning and found a 28-year-old man lying on the sidewalk with an injury to his head. The victim was in and out of consciousness when taken to the hospital. Police learned through the victim and witnesses that a transient had hit the victim multiple times with a guitar. Police were also given a description of the suspect. A short while later, police were able to locate the suspect, 21-year-old Jacob Miller, close to the scene. Miller was arrested and booked into Butte County Jail.
The cause of the assault is still being investigated at this time.
