Chico teens preparing to bike across America

While the majority of us struggle to get to the gym on a daily basis, two Chico High School students are preparing to bike across the country.

Grant Adams is getting ready to graduate from high school this week, and his little brother Walker is just finishing sophomore year. While most of their peers are looking forward to a summer of swimming, relaxing, or maybe starting a part-time job, the Adams boys are preparing for the ride of their life.

The idea for their journey didn't come out of the blue. The boys' grandparents, Grant and Shirley Adams, have made the cross county trip on bicycle three times to raise awareness for clean water projects worldwide. The boys will be riding for the same charity "Bridging the Gap by Giving," a group that drills wells and provides clean water to parts of Africa and South America.

The journey will begin with their back tires in the Pacific Ocean in Oregon and finish over 4000 miles later in Virginia.

The boys have raised all of the money for the trip themselves, and the only assistance they have moving forward is their grandparents wisdom.
