The Chico State women's soccer team won in dramatic fashion Sunday as Emily Shleppey scored the game's lone goal in the 88th minute to give the Wildcats a huge 1-0 victory over Cal State San Marcos at University Soccer Stadium.
With the win Chico State improved to 10-4-2 overall, and 6-3-1 in the CCAA, moving them into a tie for third place. The 'Cats now need to win just one of their two final regular season matches, both at home, to assure themselves one of the six postseason berths in next month's CCAA Championship Tournament.
Wildcats goalkeeper Mackenzie Boulton recorded a pair of saves on the afternoon to preserve the shutout.
The 'Cats are back in action Thursday, hosting Cal State Monterey Bay. The action gets underway at 4:30 p.m.
