The Chico State volleyball team is hoping for a special season in 2014.
The Wildcats are set to begin the campaign on Thursday, September 4th, at the Seattle Pacific tournament.
Chico State will play three games in the Pacific Northwest, starting with a bout against Seattle Pacific at 7:00pm.
Cody Hein's squad is fresh off a 16-13 season last year in which they finished 4th in the CCAA with a 13-9 mark.
Chico State is picked by conference coaches to finish fifth this year, but with the return of All-American Honorable Mention middle hitter and Paradise's own Lindsay Quigley, coupled with a strong front line, Chico State could be the conference sleeper pick.
"We do have a strong team this year, a lot of seniors that are on the court so we've got experienced players and if we just really work hard and be confident, I think we have a good shot at doing really well in conference," said Quigley.
Wildcats outside hitter Ellie Larronde echoed Quigley's sentiments.
"I know in terms of the senior class, we haven't been able to go to the playoffs yet, so I mean a title is obviously a goal of ours but also going to the playoffs is a huge goal of ours and we have very committed and determined seniors to make that happen."
