Chico State sweeps Cal State Monterey Bay in softball

The Chico State softball team swept a twinbill from the No. 3-ranked Cal State Monterey Bay Otters Friday at University Softball Field.

The Wildcats scored a 6-3 victory in the opener, then rode an Emily McEnaney home run to win the nightcap 3-0.

The two victories pushed Chico State's record to 15-7 and moved them into a tie for third place in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) with a 12-6 conference record.

Ashley Huff, Kelli Keefe and Alli Cook each tallied three hits. The trio also combined to swipe six bags on the day.
McEnaney had two hits along with four runs batted in. Brynn Lesovsky and Tori Zimmermann each knocked in a pair as well.

Chico State wraps up the four-game series against Cal State Monterey Bay Saturday with a double dip scheduled at noon at University Softball Field.
