Chico State Student Scammed by Grant Application

Looks like scammers have a new target, college students. In the week of October 14th, a Chico State student received an email offering additional grant money. The scammer asked for a down deposit of $2,000 to ensure the student would receive the grant. The student put down the money and lost the two grand. After Chico State's Public Affairs Director, Joe Wills, sent out an email to warn students, many others came forward saying they also replied to that same scam but never gave money. The subject title in the email states, "Zart assistant grant for prospective and current students." If you receive this message do not reply.
