Chico State student arrested on suspicion of drug sales

A 19-year-old Chico State student has been arrested after Butte County drug agents learned he was allegedly selling a variety of controlled substances in university owned housing.

Butte Interagency Narcotics Task Force agents along with University Police, served a search warrant at 19-year-old Daniel Pell's University Village Apartment complex Friday afternoon and found Pell to be in possession of a significant amount of controlled substances.

According to a news release from University Police, Pell was found to be in possession of 677 Xanax bars, worth approximately $3,385, and an ounce of MDMA, which is also referred to as molly, valued at $2,835. Pell was also in possession of once ecstasy pill.

The total street value of the drugs was approximately $6,230. Pell was booked into the Butte County Jail on two charges related to the sale of a controlled substance.
