A Chico State student was arrested by Butte County drug agents after they reportedly found him to be running a large scale drug operation out of his Chico home.

According to a press release from the Butte Interagency Narcotics Task Force, agents served a search warrant at the home of Gary Emile Dufault, 23, on the 700 block of Victorian Park Drive in Chico.

During the search BINTF agents reportedly found two pounds of butane honey oil; 10 pounds of marijuana; nearly 50 pounds of marijuana bud and shake; a small amount of cocaine; 12 guns, including an AR-10, two AR-15s and two AK-47s, and more than 7,300 rounds of ammunition.

Agents additionally found butane honey oil manufacturing equipment; butane; a digital scale; narcotics packaging equipment; and further evidence supporting the illegal sales of drugs.

While executing the search agents froze Dufault's bank accounts and seized over $14,000, a 2013 Ford F-350 truck and 2007 Nissan Altima that he owned free and clear.

Dufault is out on $133,000 bail.

So far this year the BINTF North Office has investigated 10 butane honey oil labs in the Chico area. Two of those labs were brought to light when they exploded.

Anyone with information on this case or any other butane honey oil lab should call (530) 891-3124 or (530) 538-2261.
