The Chico State softball team split a twin bill with UC San Diego Saturday at University Softball Field.
The Wildcats dropped a 10-inning, 8-6 decision in the opener, but came back to win the the nightcap 3-1.
Chico State moved to 21-13 on the season. The Wildcats remain in fourth place in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) with a 14-10 conference mark.
Chico State is just a-game-and-a-half ahead of Cal State San Bernardino for the fourth and final berth in the CCAA Championship Tournament.
The Wildcat offense totaled 17 hits Saturday, with Ashley Huff, Alli Cook and Amanda Cordeiro notching three apiece.
Cordeiro also talllied three runs batted in.
The Wildcats hit the road next weekend, traveling to Sonoma County for a big conference matchup with No. 24 Sonoma State. The four-game series begins with a doubleheader Friday at 1 p.m., followed by a Saturday twinbill at noon.
