A packed house for Chico State's Spring Musical. Opening night was held Wednesday evening at Laxson Auditorium. The performance was presented by the Department of Music and Theatre. The production is directed by Matthew Teague Miller. Dara Scholz is the Musical Director. Michael Brambila took on the role of Gomez and Meghan Collins portrayed Morticia, both did superb. Katie Thornton played the character of Wednesday and gave beautiful singing performances. Uncle Fester, Pugsley and Lurch were also key in the show. The set was amazing and the orchestra did a fantastic job. Young and old laughed along in a lighter version of 'The Addam's Family.' The TV series was based on the characters in Charles Addams' New Yorker cartoons. The 30-minute series was shot in black-and-white and aired for two seasons on ABC from 1964 to 1966, with 64 episodes.
The performance was family friendly, with a few adult innuendos. Definately worth going to this performance if you can get tickets. The musical runs through Sunday, May 8.
