Chico State nursing program tops regional, national lists

Chico State's School of Nursing was recently recognized as one of the nation's top nursing programs., an online community for nurses worldwide, ranked the School of Nursing 10th out of 442 schools in the western United States in its America's Best Nursing Schools 2015-Western Rankings.

Twenty metrics were used in five categories: quality, affordability, convenience, satisfaction and value. Licensing exam pass rates, financial aid, first-to-second year retention rates and alums' salaries compared to tuition were among the weightiest factors.

Additionally, ranked the School of Nursing's online RN-to-BSN program No. 36 out of nearly 400 similar programs in the U.S.

The list also cites CSU, Chico's 92.32 percent four-year average pass rate for the NCLEX-RN, the licensing exam for nurses.
