Chico State men slip past Sonoma State 75-70 in double OT

The Chico State men's basketball outlasted Sonoma State scoring a 75-70 victory in double overtime Saturday night at Acker Gym.

Cory Silverstrom, starting in place of Chico State's injured leading scorer Robert Duncan, scored a game-high 21 points and added seven rebounds, two assists and two steals.

Jalen McFerren added 18 points, six assists, four rebounds and three steals.Tanner Giddings had 12 points, seven rebounds and four steals,three of them coming in overtime.

Chico State improved to 14-3 overall and moved into a tie for first in the CCAA standing with UC San Diego at 8-2.

The Wildcats return to action Thursday night at Cal State San Marcos. Tipoff is scheduled for 8 p.m.
