Hard to believe, but basketball is back!

The Chico State men's team hosted their annual Red/White scrimmage Saturday at Acker Gym.

It should be another good year for head coach Greg Clink and company. With only three seniors last season, the Wildcats went 22-8 and captured the CCAA regular season conference title before falling to Cal-Baptist in the NCAA Championship Tournament West Regional.

In 2013-2014, Chico State advanced to the Elite Eight, the deepest run ever for a Chico State men's basketball team.

The Wildcats return nine players from last season's squad, including starters Robert Duncan, Tanner Giddings and Drew Kitchens. Duncan exploded onto the scene last season, averaging 13.9 points-per-game. The junior earned First Team All-CCAA and Second Team All-West Region honors.

Chico State opens the season ranked No. 14 in the nation by the Division II Bulletin.

The Wildcats return to the court on November 8th, taking on University of Arizona in exhibition. The game will be televised on PAC-12 Network. Tip-off is set for 5:00 p.m.

The Wildcats will open the season against Montana State-Billings on Nov. 13.
