The Chico State men's basketball team is headed to the NCAA Division-II Tournament for the fourth straight year.
Chico State, the regular season CCAA Conference champions, earned the No. 6 seed and will face third-seeded California Baptist Friday at 12:00pm at Azusa Pacific University.
California Baptist is 24-6. The Lancers finished third in the PacWest Conference.
Chico State (22-7) and California Baptist squared off in the opening round last year in San Bernardino. Chico State won 77-71 en route to capturing the NCAA West Regional title and a trip to the Elite Eight.
Other West Region first round match-ups include the host and top-seeded Azusa Pacific against No. 8 seed Western Oregon, No. 4 seed Dixie State vs. No. 5 seed Cal Poly Pomona and No. 2 seed BYU-Hawaii vs. No. 7 seed Seattle Pacific.
If Chico State advances past Cal-Baptist, they'll face either BYU-Hawaii or Seattle Pacific in Saturday's second round.
Chico State's four straight trips to the NCAA tournament marks the longest consecutive run in program history.
