The college school year is just around the corner, but here's some good news to pass along regarding Chico State athletes and their performances in the classroom last year.
28 Wildcats roped in one final round of academic accolades from 2014-2015 as they were honored by the Division-2 Athletic Directors Association as recipients of the D-2 Academic Achievement award.
According to Chico State Assistant Sports Information Director Rory Miller, the awards are handed out nationwide to a variety of schools as part of a program focused on recognizing student-athletes educational achievements.
To receive the award, an athlete must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher, complete a minimum of two years of college work and have been a member of a team.

Kristyn Casalino, Emily Duran and Lindsay Quigley.
