Kids at Hooker Oak Elementary School in Chico got an early Halloween treat this morning, and it was quite the sight to see. The school's principal, Sue Hegedus, spent part of the morning working from the roof of one of the classrooms on campus. She says she will spend the entire day on the roof if students are able to raise $25,000 by November 12th. Students will be selling cookie dough and retail catalog items for the next few weeks, and Hegedus says she wanted to motivate her students to kick off the fundraiser.
"One of the reasons is so that they can see how they can be involved and that I'm behind them all the way. If that will help them to see that I'm backing them, I'm willing to do it," she says.
All of the proceeds from the fundraiser will go towards i-Pads for students, and new laptops and Smartboards for teachers.
