Chico's Geoff Swaim, a blue-collar blocking tight end will be wearing a blue star next year after the Dallas Cowboys selected him in the seventh round of the NFL draft with the 246th pick.

The Pleasant Valley High product and junior college transfer from Butte College was mostly a force in the run game over his two years in Austin. Scouting reports say he displayed good mobility, functional strength, and hand placement in his role as a blocking tight end.

Swaim, a 6'5 and 242-pounder, finished his Texas career with 13 catches for 84 yards and a touchdown.
