More than a year after it began, Chico officials said Monday that the Clean and Safe Program aimed at downtown is now expanding to all of Chico.

Gathered at the city hall steps, city leaders along with the Downtown Chico Business Association announced the new campaign. It will begin immediately with a concentrated six-week program that will include community clean up days and neighborhood safety meetings.

Officials said the city and DCBA will also be joined by the Chico Chamber of Commerce, the Jesus Center, Torres Shelter and other community service agencies to keep this campaign going well beyond the six week kickoff period.
