The world’s top remote control car drivers gathered in Chico this weekend.
It was all part of the opening ceremonies for the 2013 IFMAR World Championships.
More than 20 countries were represented at the A Man Hobbies racetrack at the Silver Dolalr Fairgrounds on Sunday.
Hosting this event is a very prestigious honor for the North State because the IFMAR World Championships only come to the United State every eight years. This is the first time they have been held in Chico.
“We really want the Chico community to know it's a safe fun sport,” said A Main Hobbies spokesman Jason Sams. “It's a mini-motor sport and it’s great for the family it’s great for the kids and adults to get into.”
Races start Tuesday and the finals will be held Wednesday.
