Chico residents were given the chance pose questions and voice concerns about a proposed plan to expand the Walmart on Forest Avenue.
The meeting was held at the Chico City Council Chambers and allowed people the chance to discuss their concerns with members of Chico’s planning commission.
The proposed plan is to expand the store into a super Walmart by adding a produce and grocery section.
Six years ago, a similar Walmart expansion plan was voted down by the city council 4-3/
The environmental impact report should be finished by early January and will be available for public review for 45 days.
If everything is approved, construction could begin as early as 2017.
