It's the case that sent chills throughout the city of Chico. The Arrest of former Physician Assistant, Husband and Father Lonnie Keith. The man accused of attacking several women near the Chico State campus accepted a plea deal that keeps him from spending life in prison.

In 2012 Keith was accused of forcing women into his car. The women were bound and injected with a drug before they were raped. Keith was arrested January 27th of last year after allegedly running a stop sign at West 4th and Orange. Police searched his car and found a stun gun, syringes, leg restraints and hand cuffs.

Keith waived his right to a jury trial after pleading guilty to 3 counts of kidnapping and 1 count of rape. For the compromised plea the prosecution dropped special circumstances like the administration of drugs and bounding and tying.

Lonnie Keith is now looking at 26 years in prison. He'll be eligible for parole in early 2035.

The prosecuting attorney tells Action News Now that all 3 of the victims are "satisfied" with the deal.
