Chico police searching for two men involved in bank robbery

Police in Chico are looking for a man who robbed the Umpqua Bank on Pillsbury Road Thursday afternoon, and a second man they suspect was his accomplice.

The incident happened a little after 2:30 p.m. Thursday when a man walked in and passed a note to a teller demanding money.

The robber was given an undisclosed amount of cash and left the bank on foot.

Police say they believe the robber had an accomplice who walked in, then out of the bank just minutes before the robbery occurred.

Police described the robber as a younger black man, approximately 20 to 25-years-old. He is about 5 feet 8 inches tall, has a beard and was wearing a green and white checkered shirt. The suspected accomplice is also a black male about the same age and was wearing a gray shirt with blue jeans.
