Chico police searching for bank robber

Chico police, along with the FBI are searching for the man who robbed a downtown Chico bank Wednesday afternoon.

Police say a Hispanic male entered the U.S. Bank on E. 2nd and Wall Streets at 1:30 p.m. He gestured to a clerk that he had a weapon and demanded money.

The man walked out of the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash and disappeared. At this time no further description of the man is available, but police hope to release surveillance images Wednesday afternoon.

As of 2:25 p.m. the bank remains closed.
