Chico police have released surveillance photos of a man who robbed the Umpqua Bank on the Esplanade last week.

The robbery happened just before 11:30 a.m. Wednesday September 30 at the Umpqua Bank at 6th Avenue and the Esplanade.

Police say the man handed the teller a note demanding money, but no weapon was ever seen.

The robber was described as a Hispanic man, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, wearing a black hoodie, glasses, a baseball cap and blue jeans.

The Umpqua Bank on Pillsbury Road in Chico was robbed the week before, but police say it does not appear as though the two incidents are connected.

Anyone who recognizes the robber is asked to call Chico police at 530-897-4911.
