Update (5:00 a.m.) Chico Police say they have two suspects in custody in connection with both armed robberies that happened Tuesday night. Officers spotted a suspicious vehicle leaving the scene of the second robbery and made a traffic stop. Lissette Gomez was identified as the driver in both incidents and police say Joshua Gomez was the armed robber at both locations. The pair reportedly live in the Orland area. Investigators say they are looking into whether the two suspects were involved in 4 other robberies in Chico. There were two that happened in December, one at the Valero gas station on W. 1st Avenue and another at Next Door Pharmacy on Cohasset Road. The other two happened earlier this month at the Subway restaurant on W. Sacramento Avenue and the Reliance gas station on Mangrove Avenue.

Chico police are investigating two armed robberies that happened within hours of each other Tuesday night. The first robbery happened around 7:20 p.m. at the Jackpot Foodmart at 6th and Walnut. The cashier was alone in the store when the robber came in, showed a handgun and demanded all the cash in the till. The robber, who was wearing a bandana, or scarf over his face, took the cash and ran off on foot. The cashier described the robber as a Hispanic man, five feet eight inches tall.

The second robbery happened just before 10 at Tower Mart at the corner of Godman Avenue and East Lassen Avenue in Chico. A witness tells Action News Now that a man had a green and blue scarf wrapped around his head to cover his face. They said he showed a gun hidden underneath his jacket to the cashier, who then filled a grocery bag with cash from the register. The suspect in this robbery is described as being 5 foot 10 with an average build.
