Chico Police were dispatched to a home on 4th Avenue early this morning after gun shots were reported, investigators found one bullet narrowly missed a woman who had been asleep in her home.
Police responded at 2:19 a.m. and discovered casings from a shotgun and a rifle in the street at the intersection of 4th and Warner Street.
An investigation revealed that an occupied residence had been shot at several times, and bullets traveled into an adjacent residence that shares a common wall.
Police said nobody in either home was injured, but a woman in the adjacent residence had been asleep in a chair against the common wall when the shooting occurred. A bullet went through the common wall just above her head.
The incident is under investigation and anyone with information is asked to call the Chico Police Department.
