Chico Police Investigate Home Invasion

This morning around 3:30 a.m. a resident of an apartment at the 1400 block of Broadway Street in Chico called 911 to report a home invasion. According to the Chico Police Department’s press release, the resident was inside his apartment with two other male adults when they heard a knock on the front door. As the resident opened the door, the suspect forced open the door which struck the resident in the face, causing the resident to fall to the ground.

As the resident attempted to get up, the suspect pushed him to the ground and brandished a handgun. The suspect then brandished the weapon at the two other adults and demanded money and drugs. According to the release, all the occupants said there was no money or drugs inside the apartment. The suspect reportedly stood there momentarily, then fled out the front door and headed in an unknown direction. The resident was treated at a hospital for minor injuries and later released.

The suspect was described as a white male in his late 20s, wearing dark clothing, a dark hat, a bandana over his face and dark sunglasses. The weapon was described as a semi-automatic handgun, according to the release.
