In a 24-hour period beginning Sunday night, Chico Police were called to four stabbings that ended with five people hospitalized and three people behind bars.
It all started around 9 p.m. Sunday when officers were called to a domestic disturbance on Nord Avenue near West Sacramento Avenue.
Officers say when they arrived they found two people who been stabbed by Joverly Rayford during an argument.
One of the victims was taken to Enloe Medical Center for treatment, but the second declined medical attention.
Rayford was booked for assault with a deadly weapon.
Just 11 minutes after the Nord Avenue call, officers received a report of a second stabbing at the Handle Bar on E. 20th Street.
Butte County Sheriff's deputies had to handle the initial call, but officers say they were able to arrest a juvenile male who they say stabbed to adults outside the bar.
One of the victims was taken to the hospital via ambulance, while the second victim remained on scene.
Then around 8:15 p.m. Monday, officers were called to a report of a stabbing in the One Mile Recreation Area at Bidwell Park.
Officers say a transient told them he had been stabbed by a man in the area after a brief argument.
The 21-year-old was taken to the hospital where he was treated for a stab wound to the leg.
Just 25 minutes later the officer dealing with the first stabbing report was told of two other men who had just come in to the hospital with stab wounds.
Investigators say they eventually determined that the two 19-year-old victims had been stabbed by 18-year-old John Jenkins III at a home on Holly Avenue near W. 12th Avenue.
Jenkins was arrested on two counts of assault with a deadly weapon.
No of the wounds in any of the four stabbings are considered life threatening.
