Chico police have released surveillance photos of a vehicle they're searching for in connection with an attempted sexual assault on the Lindo Channel Bike Path Monday.

Police say that after checking with businesses in the area they identified a "seafoam green Volvo S80" as a vehicle of interest in the case. The Volvo appears to be a 2008 or earlier model, possibly with aftermarket wheels.

Police responded to the attempted sexual assault of a minor at 10:41 a.m. Monday and learned the victim had been riding her bicycle, northbound across the Lindo Channel bike path. As she crossed the bridge, she was knocked off her bike by the suspect.

The assailant then reportedly tried to remove the victim's clothing. The victim struggled with the suspect and was able to escape and flee the area.

The suspect is described as Hispanic, 19-20 years old, and is 5 feet 8 inches with a skinny build.

Anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to contact the Chico Police Department Detective Bureau at (530)897-4920.
