Chico police have arrested two men they say are responsible for six armed robberies dating back to December.

Police were called to an armed robbery at the ABC Market on 9th Street early Saturday, and minutes after the robbery was reported a man matching the robbers description was picked up at the corner of W. 9th and Orange Streets.

Officers identified the man as 19-year-old Rashawn Taylor, of Chico. When he was arrested Taylor was allegedly in possession of a replica firearm, linking him to the crime.

The Chico Police Detective Bureau and Gang Unit took over the investigation and uncovered additional evidence linking Taylor to six other armed robberies. Additionally detectives' uncovered information leading them to believe 19-year-old Chico resident Uvonte Person was involved in two of the six robberies.

On Sunday officers searched a home on Mulberry Street and found more evidence linking Person to the robberies, including a stun gun that was reportedly used on two store clerks.

Person was arrested Monday morning and booked into the Butte County Jail.

Police have linked both suspects to armed robberies at the Chevron on Nord last December and the Money Saver on Park Avenue in January.

Taylor has also been linked to a second robbery at the Money Saver and a robbery at the Jackpot Food Mart on W. 6th Street April 28. He also allegedly robbed the Jackpot Food Mart last Tuesday.
