Chico PD Releases Surveillance Images of Suspected Armed Robber

The Chico Police Department has released still images from surveillance video of an alleged armed robber who targeted East Avenue Liquor yesterday afternoon.

The robbery was reported to the department around 3:15 p.m. Monday. When officers arrived the suspect had already fled the scene on a bicycle. The suspect was last seen riding north on Mariposa Ave.

According to responding officers, the suspect entered the store and immediately approached the lone clerk. The suspected reportedly then demanded the cash from the register and told the clerk he had a gun in his waistband. The clerk complied with the suspect’s demands. No one else was in the store at the time.

The suspect has been described as a white male in his mid-20s, 5’10”, with a large build. He was wearing a black SF Giants black baseball cap, grey t-shirt and had a yellow backpack with him. The suspect is possibly armed.
