It is Greyson Christie’s birthday and he can cry if he wants to.
But the five-year-old Chico birthday boy is holding back the tears, even though he is upset.
“I’m sad,” he said. “Because they made holes in the ground.”
Greyson had his birthday party at DeGarmo Community Park in Chico this Saturday. But the playground is closed due to vandalism.
His mother, Leah, spent $50 to rent the pavilion for the party. She was unaware the playground was closed and plans to get her money reimbursed later.
“I’ extremely angry because no one told me about this,” she said.
But for now, Leah is thankful Greyson is still having a birthday party.
“I think it’s pretty sad and I think it’s kids that didn’t have great five-year-old birthday parties,” she said. “It’s a bummer that they don’t realize how many people they affected that didn’t really deserve it.”
