The Chico Parade of Lights will celebrate its 25th year anniversary in downtown Chico Saturday, October 18th.
This year the festivities will include some pre-parade events ... including an antique car show on 5th Street between Main and Broadway, tricycle races starting at 4th Street and Main, bed races starting at 4th Street and Main and a wheelchair rugby game.
The pre-parade activities start at 5 p.m. The parade starts at 7:30 p.m.
Organizers say the "Parade of Lights" is the direct continuation of the old Chico tradition of the Pioneer Days Parade, which was discontinued in late 1980's.
There are more than 60 entrees this year, and as many as 10,000 people are expected to line the parade route.
It will start at 3rd and Salem Streets, then continues to Main Street ... down to 6th Street ... ending at 4th Street and Broadway.
