Behind a strong performance from starting pitcher Calvin Riley, the San Mateo Shockers knocked off host Chico 8-1 in the championship of the Father's Day Classic tournament.

Riley fired a complete-game, striking out nine and holding the Nuts to five hits.

Ty Maria had the lone run batted in for Chico, singling home Samson Abernathy with a single to left field in the second inning.

The tournament finale did not go as planned for the Nuts, but they certainly have nothing to hang their heads about. Abernathy, Hayden Southam, J.T. Morris and Andrew Shippelhoute made the All-Tournament team with Abernathy earning most outstanding offensive player, and Southam securing most outstanding pitcher.

Chico moves to 13-5-1 on the year.

Up next for the Nuts is the UNR tournament in Reno which takes place June 23-28.
