Chico man pleads guilty to soliciting minor

A Chico man who police investigators say was trying to meet an 11-year-old girl for sex has pleaded guilty to one count of soliciting a minor.

According to the Butte County District Attorney's Office, 30-year-old Reginald Ealy changed his not guilty plea in court Tuesday morning. Ealy plead guilty to Soliciting a minor over the internet with intent to commit a sexual offense.

When Ealy was arrested he was also charged for sending harmful matter with the intent to seduce a minor, that charge has been dropped.

Chico Police began an investigation when the 11-year-old victim's older sister found sexually explicit photos and messages from Ealy.

Police say detectives began to pose as the victim online and set up a meeting. On February 4, 2015 Ealy was arrested when he drove to Oak Park with the intent of meeting the victim and sexually molesting her.

Ealy will be back in court for sentencing next month.
