An allegedly drunken Chico man created a scary situation for parents dropping their kids off at Chico Junior High School Thursday morning.
Chico Police responded to a calls of an intoxicated man trying to get into parked cars, as well as some slow moving cars at the Chico Courthouse across the street from the school.
Chico Police Sergeant Rob Merrifield said one woman reported the man actually opened her passenger door and got into the car. Fortunately the woman was able to get out of the car without incident.
Police arrested 23-year-old Cameron Cook of Chico for public intoxication. Police say it does not appear Cook had any ill intentions, but seemed confused from whatever substance he was on.
