The Chico Police Department have arrested a man in connection to two liquor store robberies over the last two days.

This afternoon, Action News Now was contacted by a local man who first saw the suspect riding down East Avenue and contacted police.

The man, who wished to remain anonymous, called Chico Police Dispatch after he observed a man riding a yellow bike with a yellow backpack and a black SF Giants hat riding east past the 7/11 on East Avenue around 2 p.m. this afternoon. The witness stayed on the phone with dispatch as he followed the suspect down East Avenue until the suspect pulled into the parking lot of the Likker Locker. According to the witness, the suspect soon left the parking lot of the liquor store and headed north on Cohasset Avenue until Chico Police eventually arrested the man near an open field south of the intersection of Cohasset and Lupin Avenues.

Chico Police are currently interviewing the male suspect and “strongly suspect” the man is the same man who robbed Fair St. Market yesterday and possibly the East Avenue Liquor on Monday.
