A Chico man is facing 11 felony charges and eight misdemeanors after an officer arrested him for driving recklessly in a stolen car, with a loaded gun, and drugs.

A Chico officer was patrolling the area of Park and 14th Street when she spotted the reckless driving. She tried to pull the car over. The driver, later identified as Johnny Primrose, 19, of Chico, stopped the car near 15th Street and fled on foot.

The officer was able to cut off Primose with her patrol car and then hold him at gunpoint until a second officer arrived.

A subsequent investigation revealed Primose was driving a stolen car, in possession of two types of narcotics, and carrying a loaded gun.

Police say Primose has a long history of criminal activity in Butte County, and is a suspected gang member.

In total, Primrose faces 11 felonies, and eight misdemeanors. He was booked into the Butte County Jail with bail was set at $289,000.
