A Chico house is vandalized with graffiti and the tenant is very upset.
It happened in a West Chico neighborhood sometime early Tuesday morning.
Just about everywhere you look near the intersection of Nord and Stewart in Chico—on street signs, city dumpsters and even storefronts—there’s graffiti. But when someone tagged a woman’s house, they took the vandalism too far.
“That’s my safe haven,” said the tenant, who did not want to be identified. “And to be violated like that is wrong.”
Chico Police say graffiti is a problem in the area but with a limited staff and a slashed budget their priorities are elsewhere.
“To actually conduct investigations in order to try and curb the problem has been an issue for us,” said Sgt. Matt Madden of the Chico Police Dept.
The City of Chico does have a graffiti task force for business and private property owners. The hotline number is 898-2003.
