The Butte County Coroner's Office has identified the man who was stabbed to death in south Chico Thursday morning.

Police say 37-year-old Joel Eldridge, of Oroville, was stabbed after a fight outside a home on the corner of Mulberry Street and W. 23rd Street early Thursday.

A woman reportedly left the house with Eldridge in her car, and was stopped by police on the Esplanade at 2nd Avenue. Eldridge was then taken to Enloe Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Chico police have identified two persons of interest in the case, and are looking for 30-year-old Michael Patrick Anderson and 27-year-old Brandy Jane Hernandez.

Anyone with information on the case or the whereabouts of either person of interest is asked to call the Chico Police Department.
