The Chico Eastside Red 9-10 year-old Little League All-Stars are headed to the Northern California Championships for the second year in a row.

Chico Eastside accomplished the feat by knocking off Colusa, 13-0, in the Section 2 championship game. Now they'll try to keep it going against Northern California's best in a seven-team double-elimination tournament in Tuolumne.

Chico will take on Porterville in their first game of the tournament on Saturday, July 16th, and 9am.

Chico has six returners from the squad that made the Northern California state tournament last year and head coach Aaron Lyons says this around his kids are peaking at the right time.

"In the 10 games they've played so far in all-stars they've scored 151 runs, they've given up 13 and they've sort of taken the coaches out of it, they've done it themselves," said Lyons.

"This team is full of talent and we're all great friends. When I grow up, I will never forget this," said Ian Guanzon.
